CULA now FREE for individual academic use!
We are very pleased to announce that starting immediately, our academic versions are now free for individual academic use, up to one license and one machine per registered user. We are excited to see new research opportunities open up by this change!
A full FAQ is available at: http://www.culatools.com/academic-faq/
Those academic users who are already registered on our site can add a single free license to their account by using this link: https://www.culatools.com/user/member.php?tab=add_renew Academic users without accounts will be presented the option at the time of account creation.
Cluster users, those with multiple machines or users, and those who wish to distribute the library will still need a traditional paid licenses as before.

Re: CULA now FREE for individual academic use!
Hi I registered two years ago with gmail account a now want to apply for academic versions..
I tried creating new account with my university email which is in form of name@urv.cat (university Rovira virgili of spain) (https://correu.urv.cat) but I can't apply for..
I get
"◾CULA Academic is only available to students, researchers, and professors who have an email address associated with an academic instituion. Please contact support if you would like your instituion added to the approved academics list."
can you point me how to fix it please!

What is the difference between the Personal Academic CULA Dense & Sparse and a simple free CULA Dense product?
In Personal Academic CULA Dense the functions pculaDgesv,pculaDgetrf,pculaDgetrs not released!
In Personal Academic CULA Dense the functions pculaDgesv,pculaDgetrf,pculaDgetrs not released!

With the Personal Academic license, be sure to download the "full" edition on the downloads page.

Re: CULA now FREE for individual academic use!
Again, I apologize.
But CULA for individual academic does not contain functions:
pculaDgesv;
pculaDgetrs;
Here is the text representation of the file cula_scalapack.dll
emm.pculaCgetrf.pculaConfigInit.pculaCposv.pculaCpotrf.pculaCpotrs.pculaCtrsm.pculaDgemm.
pculaDgetrf.pculaDposv.pculaDpotrf.pculaDpotrs.pculaDtrsm.pculaSgemm.pculaSgetrf.pculaSposv.
pculaSpotrf.pculaSpotrs.pculaStrsm.pculaZgemm.pculaZgetrf.pculaZposv.pculaZpotrf.pculaZpotrs.
pculaZtrsm.................

That is correct, those are not in there. When they are added, it will be noted in the release notes.

Re: CULA now FREE for individual academic use!
Where can I find the link to download CULA individual academic software ?
I added CULA Dense & Sparse (Personal Academic) (Free) in Add/Renew Subscription
tab in my menu, but I can't download FULL EDITION software and I can't see link to
Academic Personal version.
I want to add that I am Ph.D. student from Poland, and I previously bought CULA Dense (Academic Discount) by the paypal payment (03/14/2011).
I will be very gratefull for answer.

Re: CULA now FREE for individual academic use!
thank you very much.
I have another question, if my department buy a notebook equipped with GPU gt650m, will cula academic support notebook's kind of GPU. I known that Kepler is "worse" than Fermi, but it would allow me to show students capabilities of CULA library directly on projector. Especially I want to ask about double precision with use of notebook's GPU (I don't want to achieve high performance, but I want to know if is it possible. ). Is the optimus technology (most laptops have it) does not prevent the use of the library?
Can I use CULA academic for this purpose whether my department must buy another licenced version of CULA ?
Thank You once again, and I will be gratefull for answer.
